1. Wineries in Northern Virginia

Take a scenic drive to the beautiful mountains of rural northern Virginia for a day. Grab a glass and enjoy the countryside just a hop away from downtown life, such as Barrel Oak, Bull Run Winery, RDV, Stone Tower Winery, and more. There are over 250 award-winning vineyards less than an hour from Washington for you to explore.

2. Summer Nationals game

Catch a ball game with the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park on capital street. Nothing says summer like a baseball game and a hotdog, and truly nobody does it like the Nationals. Games run through August, and tickets are on sale all summer.

3. Downtown weekend farmers markets

Stock up on fresh summer produce and learn about local businesses at any of the farmers markets downtown. Whether you’re looking for veggies, summer peaches, artisan cheeses, or grabbing a coffee, the Dupont Circle FRESHFARM market, Eastern Market, or Mount Vernon Triangle are great places to support your local community and find quality goods.

4. Monumental Boat Tours

Skip the sidewalks and take a boat tour around dc, discovering the city from a new perspective. This 2.5-hour boat tour allows you and a partner to drive your own boat along the Potomac surrounding DC, Maryland, and Virginia. This boat trip is definitely Instagram-worthy and worth experiencing, even if you’re familiar with the DMV area.

5. Union Market DC

You’re missing out if you’ve never been to Union Market in DC! This market hosts DC’s best restaurants, shops, drinks, and snacks, with something for (quite literally) everybody. In the summer, local musicians and art events are hosted right outside—one of the best destinations this summer and the perfect place to bring kids or friends.

What do all these things have in common? You can’t enjoy them when you’re stuck at home cleaning! Get out on the town (or out of town) and let us do the dirty work. You deserve it.
